my bitch is at day 42 of pregnancy and all she is interested in eating is raw meat.  i have tried cooked chicken, minced beef but no it has to be raw! will this do the pups any harm also is it ok to give her, her real favorite tripe. i have looked in my bible, the book of the bitch but it does'nt say.

Mine was just the same - raw liver, raw beef, the lot. She had it mixed with the puppy variety of her kibble and was fine. I really think they know what their body needs. :D

It'll be fine ....theres no reason you should cook her food just because shes pregnant

Our bitches are exactly the same, the are fed a raw diet but for the last couple of weeks they will not eat RMB's, it has to be flesh or offal.

We are great believers in giving the bitch what she wants, instinctive behaviour should always be encouraged. If she is not used to raw, make sure that any meat is of human-grade quality and be sure to use beef that has been previously frozen to ensure that any potential parasites are killed.

She should be fine, don't worry!

Yes same happened to my girl. First she went off meaty bones, tho did like to keep a marrow one around, then veg/fruit &fish & even the sprinkling of herbs. Who was I to argue??? For last 2wks she`d only eat raw meat & raw eggs. She had 10 healthy pups 5 males 5 girls, all an even weight in just over 2hrs from start to finish :D You just got to wonder sometimes who knows best, them or us with all our supposed knowledge :D

We only ever feed our dogs on raw meat and it does them the world of good. Our 2 year old dog gets commented on by the vets at how healthy she looks, her teeth are white, her eyes are bright. Dogs know what's best for them. Raw meat is what they're used to in the wild, so it's a strain on their stomach to eat processed food. You can probably find some more information on the internet if you look hard enough.

Raw meat,offal etc. is what dogs are designed to eat.I'm sure the majority of dogs fed solely on commercial food crave raw meat and a big fat juicy bone constantly :(

Your dog knows best what she needs :) Raw fed dogs often have more robust pups!
