My little pup Rose loves the water, she jumps into every puddle, stream infact even the bath, the other one hates water with a vengence.
Anyone else have a breed that generally isnt waterbound but loves it ?

Delta, my youngest Malamute LOVES water ...she will find every puddle, ditch and dyke on a walk PLUS she used to scrabble in her water bowl until we raised it up :)
arh bless, Rose used to do that, she'd get her paws in and dig away until it was all over floor :)

I used to have a Pomeranian who loved to go swimming. I've got a Spanish Water Dog who won't swim :d

Hi blondiflops, your post reminded me about the first time my staff went into water that was deeper than she is high. we were at the beach and although she likes paddling she never gets her belly wet but there was wee pools at the forest which is beside the beach and she took a flying leap in and sunk! They couldn't have been more than 2' deep but she sunk and when her feet hit the bottom she pushed herself up and propelled herself above the water and kept on doing this right across the pond a number of times bouncing across the pond mainly underwater. It was so funny and this to her is swimming even though she looks daft and could probably swim if she tried. thanks for bringing back a lovely memory blondiflops.
I've got a siamese cat that LOVES water. Jumps into the fountain on the toilet, will jump straight into the bathtub when I'm at my parents!
Than of course you need to turn on the water and he will just stand there and walk around in a layer of water up to his knees !!
Our FC Bart loved 'sniffing' under water. He would walk through water with his nose to the ground like sniffing there
He looked like a sub !! :D Even though as a pup we would walk around puddles because he didn't want to get his feet wet :D
But FC's love water.
My two staffies will paddle. Hollie will lie down in shallow water if it's hot but Raffie won't entertain getting his belly wet!
I haven't let them in deeper water to swim because staffs are traditionally terrible at swimming!

Dylan (shar pei) absoultey despises water, and will walk an extra mile if it means avoiding the shallowest of puddles. He'll even refuse to pee in the garden if the grass is wet. If you do eventually manage to get him to go he'll be standing on 2 legs, and swapping them around halfway through!
Trinity (GSD X) on the other hand absolutely LOVES water and bounces around in it like there's no tomorrow :-D The funniest is when she misjudges the depth and she jumps out again really quickly, cocks her head and then dives back in again! But she usually saves it for the end of the walk, just to give my car that lovely 'eau de wet dog'
