Our 14 month boxer often has loose stools but in the morning they are quite normal. Tried him on many different foods but he seems happy with Purina for adults which he has been on for about a month now. We dont mix the food with any water just dry. We have been told to persevere and not to change his food all the time. We are going through lots of kitchen roll when taking him for walks, can anyone help!!
I know there is granules you can get from your vet that helps to firm up the stools. Also you could try adding some bran, I know you would think bran would have the opposite effect but unless you give too much it won't. Is there a pattern to when your dogs stools are loose - could it be food linked ? The other thing that you can give is a nice big raw meaty bone from your butchers. When any of mine get one of these they end up pooping bricks !!! Hope this has been of some help to you.

Try giving him some minced chicken for his morning or evening meal - that is the frame ground up, either from the butcher or a pet food shop (butcher best if possible). You could feed whole wings, necks, & frames, but if your Boxer is like mine they tend to gulp rather than chew, so whole chicken bits can pose a risk of choking.

try a couple of hard boiled eggs or scrambled (no milk) as with humans should bind him up a bit

A little Pectin, about a teaspoon would be plenty in his food also helps bind them up. Health Food shops and some supermarkets - it's to help jam set - basically concentrated apple juice.
