Our Labrador Puppy Ralph is just over 4 months old. So far apart from the chewing, he's been a dream. He's great on and off lead except when he see's water! He charged down a moat at the weekend at sat in water and even refused food to get out. My husband had to fish him out and they both stank all the way home! I think he would dive off a 50 foot cliff to get to water! It worries me he will get hurt. Does anyone else have this trouble? any advice?

Our labrador was like that too. We would walk along the canal towpath while she swam. She was working-bred and still had all her working instincts intact.

Yes, I have two exactly the same. 3 will go in water if allowed, the other 2 have selected hearing, a sniff of water and they are in it, regardless of how smelly, the smellier the better apparently :D  Last week after a lot of rain, I had to fish Summer out of the drainaige gulley alongside our wood, it had filled with dead leaves etc and was complete 'gunge' once in, she got stuck. I was nearly sick with the smell. Aren't they delightful :D :D

Yep, and another two water babies here as well ! :)

Labradors and water are irresistibly drawn to each other !

Hardly surprising when you consider their roots as working dogs with fishermen in Newfoundland. :)
