Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Rescue GSD - help/behaviourist needed
- By Boxacrazy [gb] Date 04.02.05 11:12 UTC
My Mum and her partner have adopted a 7yo GSD from their local rescue centre.
His previous owner died. He was in the home from Aug of last year until Jan.

He has seperation anxiety and gets very stressed when my mums partner even leaves the room.
He has to look everywhere. He even tries to sit with him in the front of the car if he could when
they go out. He does this to some extent with my mum too.

He now also has problems with walkers that carry sticks and has a habit of going over to other dogs
'bowling' them over before coming back to my mum and her partner.
They also have a Border Collie rescue.

Please can anyone reccommend a reputable behaviourist in the Isle of Wight or local to that
area? As they really want to sort the problems out and not give up on him.
Thanks :)

It may be best to look at Hants/Dorset rather than the IOW, there are several good ones in the area :)
If you want personal recommendations feel free to PM me, otherwise take a peek at www.ukrcb.co.uk, www.apbc.org.uk or www.apdt.co.uk (the latter are not behaviourists as such but some have behavioural knowledge).
