Hi

I have a 3 year old bitch who was diagnosed with endometreosis last years seasons are a bit all over the placed however I also have a 2 year old male staff which I did hope to mate with her do I need to keep them apart no aggression from either of them when she has been in season previously but what are the chances of her getting pregnant vet said unlikely but could not be 100% has any body been in the same position and their bitch get pregnant has I want to be fully prepared and not get up one morning to find a litter of babies.

Any info would be appreciated.

Many Thanks

Not sure about bitches but I have a friend who suffers badly with endometriosis and she was told children were not possible - she now has two miracles born 12 years apart :D  Remember, nothing is written in stone, you would be wise to ask the vet if it is hereditary, as the last thing you want is to pass it on down to any future puppies.

It is possible to conceive (in human terms) if you have endometriosis.  I did.  I do hope that your dog doesn't suffer with as much pain though and I also hope hers is confined to the pelvis.  Endo can spread throughout the body in humans.  Endo in humans is thought to have a genetic link but has your bitch had a laparoscopy to confirm this?  This is the only means of diagnosis that exists, the main reason why so many of us women go undiagnosed.

Personally, I wouldn't want to breed from a bitch who has this.  Having a litter won't "cure" her either.
