Can anyone tell me what different types of collars there are out there?? and which they prefer??

Harness
Buckle collars
Coke chain
Slip Collar
Prong or pinch.
Full collar.

a harness is a good choice as it gives you better controll

No collar, just a gundog slip.

my opinions

harness, like on my tara, she has a anti pull one which works brilliantly
buclkle/full collar. nell & flynn just both have a thickish flat collar on for training. i  prefer the feel
choke. dont like them
half slip, tara has one, shes nicer in it than a flat collar
prong.widely used in the US. i cant see why anyone would want to use one of these

&  headcollars. great although may need to find one to suit each dog,

If mine have to wear collars then I prefer to use the quick release type where you squeeze the two sides together to undo it.

We use the wide, webbing, quick release type too :) (1/2 check versions). The dogs don't wear them at home and so they are really easy to put on/take off :) I used to use a Kumfi head collar which was excellent, but Tara doesn't need it now :)
