A breeder has said that he crops his own puppies ear at 2 days old.  Is this normal?

Hi as far as im aware ear cropping in the UK  is illegal

This practice as far as the UK is concerned has been ileagal for over a 100 years.

As far as I am aware the only breeds cropped youn g are thsoe where the whole ear flap is removed like some of the Russian guarding breeds.

In those cropped in countries that still allow this (most Ruropean countries have or are banning it) the ears are done at about 3 months so that their shape is apparent.

The breeder is not from the UK, he was from the US.

You would need to ask the breeders in US if that is normal for that breed.  If you are thinking of importing such a puppy her,e be aware that it could not be shown in Britain.

Not normal for the US either, they are also done at about 3 months over there.
