I have a cavi bitch whos sweet and loving and thinks shes a cat. I caught her the other day chasing a mouse round the garden catching it in her mouth and tossing it up in the just as she as seen my cats do. I ran out screeming at her NOOOOO. I think she has spent too much time with my cats. would you say it normal or should i worry? LOL

I have a Mal who loves chasing mice :) The problem is, he's quite surprised when he lifts his paw and they don't run off! I don't think he's sussed that 7 stone on top of a mouse means the end to the game! LOL

My setters do exactly the same, when the cats bring the mice in they let them go and the dogs chase them and bash them with their paws
Blaze is very cat like, and it spooks people out. he uses his paws and claws much more like a cat than a dog would. He curls up in the tightest ball I have ever seen - loves chasing birds, mice and anything that moves. Then again he has a bit of an identity crisis - somethimes he thinks he's a rabbit - a he loves eating carrots - oh and grass ( it isn't diet related) , other times he thinks he is a bird - he will do anything for bread and even steals from the bird table given the chance and the way he eats apple, pear, grapes and fruit you would be forgiven for thinking he's a monkey! Strange dog !
One of my cats thinks he's a dog. He will bring back the toys I throw away :D
I wouldn't worry. My dogs play with frogs in our garden though never deliberately kill them. Like yours, they toss them up and forage them out of the shrubs, playing hide and seek for ages if I don't go out and rescue the frogs! I think it has more to do with how much 'prey drive' your dog has rather than watching cats.
I was under the impression that frogs can be poisoness if bitten

Don't tell the French

:D Some jungly frogs are poisonous but I think in the UK it is just toads that are poisonous.
my dog even eats the mice, whole,!
I've got the opposite. My cat thinks he's a dog! He lies on the back of the chair and growls at my next door neighbour. And it's more of a dog growl than a cat one ;) He even barked last night. :D Or at least that's what it sounded like :)
Our dog caught her first mouse the weekend. She's always doing this kangeroo jump in the bushes, which is quite comically to look at. Anyway on Saturday we were walking the canels when she was jumping and padding when some kids came over and said could they stroke her, "Yeh no problem" when one said "Yuk" looked down to see just a tale hanging out her mouth. Told the kids not to touch her cause she was looking kind of sheepish. When woosh the whole thing went in. OH paniced thinking she was going to choke opened her mouth and grabed a dead sloppy mouse (shiver) it was horrible.

I have a boxer that must think its a mouse as every time a cat comes into our garden the cat chases her all around. It is very funny to watch but I kind of hoped she would chase the cats away as i'm fed up with them toileting everywhere.
