I don't think there are any in the UK, not exactly easy to get in France.

Have you contacted the Kennel Club to see if they know of any imports?

I am also interested in the Barbet, my friend who owns a black standard poodle, was stopped in a park in London by a Dog Historian, this lady was adament that the poodle was a throwback.I did try to do some research on the breed, but sadly none of the American sites that I contacted replied.I am not convinced that it could be a throwback, but her poodle does show some odd traits which are not at all characteristic of the normal breed.Firstly it has a gait of a spaniel, quite a short muzzle, and has round eyes, its also very small, and very sensitive and extremely intelligent.I could ramble on for hours as the dog really is almost too bright, I own a Standard as well, and mine is a blundering idiot in comparison.
I would be interested in any comments anyone may have.

I believe that they were going to use the Poodle again or some other breed close to it as they needed some new lines. I don't know how true this is. I know someone in France who has Perro de Agua Espanoles and Barbets. She might be able to give you some more info.
