how accurate is a blood test as regards to best mating times? First mating with my bitch had a blood test done on a tuesday that said to take her about friday went to dog thursday and saturday he was,t interested next season had swab onthe monday said not ready go back wed went back ready to be mated thursday also had scan done thursday that said saturday no blood test this time went with bitch friday sunday [as dog not available saturday and went again sunday all good ties Still no pups  WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO GO? AND WHICH IS THE BEST TEST  my bitch does have a lot of bleeding and it,s hard to tell although i watch her like a hawk well before she,s due to make sure i don.t miss her

I usually do mine on the 12 day.  I dont really go too much on bleeding because my oldest girl just bleed up to 30 days and the first time I was told to wait until the bleeding eased up so nearly missed.  When I used to breed westies this was how we used to know when to go and never had any problems then

This time because my other girl doesnt bleed well only one or two dots we did do a pre mate and it was spot on.  We are very luck as we have a boy in the house who also lets us know when.
