Hi, I was just wondering is "miniture" in the breed standard? E.G. Miniture Yorkshire Terrier, and can miniture breeds be shown?
thanks :D

Miniature poodles, miniature schnauzers, miniature dachshunds, miniature pinschers are all recognised breeds with their own standards. Miniature Yorkshire terriers, no. There's no such breed. They should be under 7lb when adult, but that's all the standard says regarding size.
:)

With Yorkshire terriers here in London you get the pet people saying they have the standard size Yorkies think thats wot the pet shops tell them to keep them happy as they think they are 2 sizes in yorkies toy and  standard .

Sounds better than Standard (fitting the breed standard), and Non Standard (hardly resembling the breed in colour, shape or size) :(

Got to say I quite often have people bring their yorkies to me for grooming claiming to have "standard" or "miniture" ones!
