hi hope youcan help me my little girl nibble came on heat yesterday for the first time she is 8 mounths old. i was hoping you could give me some advice on how to help her feel more comfortable or anything like that also how long are they normally on for? she is my first female so not 100% sure about whats going on with her body at the moment

Buy a copy of 'The Book of the Bitch' by White and Evans. It'll answer all your questions, as well as many you didn't think to ask!

In the meantime, keep her away from all other dogs for at least 21 days, probably 28 is safer. That means not letting her out of doors unsupervised, even in your own garden. Don't walk her when or where you're likely to meet other dogs. Apart from that, treat her as normal, though as she's on restricted exercise you will probably have to cut her food intake to compensate.

when she stops bleeding SHE IS READY TO BREED! So don't assume its safe once shes stopped bleeding...quite the opposite.

thankyou for your advise all seems to be going well shes very affectionate at the moment, almost fragile but aren't most females dog or not at that time!

If you reduce her food she is less likely to have a phantom
