Ok. This is a new one on me. I have never really been with anyone on V day.apart from my ex husband it was a case of a card and that was it!!!!!
My BF has said he has something planned for valentines day. Which is no mean feet considering he will be half way through his 4 days out!!!!!!!!
I have been seeing him for 8 + weeks now. But What the hell do I get him for Valentines day????????????
I am on a very limited budget and will not see him on the day so need to sort it out for either before or 16th but want to be able to give him something to give him to take with him!!!!!!!
And yes it is  serious relationship so dont need to worry about coming on to strong.
any ideas PLEAAAAASSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Valentines day is commercial :)

What matters is what you really feel :)

It doesn't matter what your budget is ! If he is the right one he will just love maybe a home made card ?  Just enjoy the surprise he has in store for you !

What about a lovely piccie of you in one of those tiny heart shaped frames, he could take it around with him, wherever he stays. ;-)

Or a picture of you and him together, if you have one.

Lucy, Valentines day has been commercialised ...which is different from saying it is commercial ;)

History of St Valentines Day

Lea ...I would make or buy a card, you could make heart shaped biscuits for him or you could just tell him how much you love him :)

Does he like his bling? :) My hubby loves his smellies, I usually go for Chanel Allure for men or Diors Higher, always aftershave 'never' EDT. Tk Maxx means designer labels at dirt cheap prices. He doesn't see the price tag and gets to big it up with the boys ;) Ebay is another great place to get something special...you know what men are like for dodgy records, star wars, retro footie stuff. It really depends on the bloke, in the past I've bought a book of love poems so we could laze in bed reciting slush and giggling, another guy was thrilled with his ltd edition star wars toy 'sigh'. Hubby is so easy because he's label mad and the blackmarket is thriving around here :D
Let me know what you decide!

I always try to come up with different presents for my OH.  I have done an A-Z of Christmas presents could be done for Valentines Day too, which he absolutly loved and was quite cheap really.  Day out racing cars (expensive though).  Vouchers which i do on the computer, for a tea of his choice on a night of his choice, unlimitted hugs and kisses for a day, one giving him free reign of the TV controls for the evening and even an X-rated one.  They cost nothing are a bit of a giggle and he loves producing his vouchers at the last min.  I even did a get out of Jail free card - which he used the next time he was late from the pub!!

I am also making his card this year and try to write the verse myself!!

Hope i have been of some help.

Valentine's Day is just an excuse for card shops and florists to make a lot of money imo.
If you want to show your love for someone just tell them how much they mean to you or spend some special time with them.

I do that every day anyway :) I love Valentines Day and I take great pride in choosing or making a card and picking out a gift :)

Ive always made a Valentines cake or heart shaped cookies in a little basket as thats what my darling likes :) What does your boy really like? Being on a budget encourages imagination. Another thing my OH loves is his travel cup and his slimline flask for taking to Rugby. Valentines Day is a little spur to stop us taking each other for granted, frighteningly easy to do.

My hubby only gets a card on Valentine's Day (if he's lucky :D ). He knows that I love him and I won't buy him a present on principle (even if I knew what to get him) :) He dare not buy me anything either - he knows what the punishment would be :D :D

Hi all

I'm in a right pickle too this year. I have two pressies to buy for my OH as it's Valentines on the 14th and his birthday on the 15th. Last year I did the smellies for valentines and a playstation game he'd been after for ages for his birthday. I'm really stuck this year. He doesn't like watches and I daren't buy him clothes. He got new smellies at christmas and he has lost interest in his playstation. I need lots of help too please. I quite like the voucher idea so I'll maybe do something with that.

Alli

Edited to add My OH always comes up with fab pressies so it makes me feel worse when I give him the rubbish ones I pick :(

Well in my house, we always have a romantic meal out every couple of weeks/months, without children, so that we rediscover what it was about each other that attracted us in the first place and also why we're still together (god, we do wonder somtimes :P )

On Valentines day, we make each other silly/comical cards on the computer,  but not from each other, we do it from the dogs.......very sad :D  That's what we have always done, never any presents.
- By earl [gb] Date 01.02.05 17:08 UTC
I usually buy my OH a t-shirt or a CD or something like that.  Not exactly romantic, but something he'll like.  :p

Last year I bought a card for the dog, but I don't see any in the shops this year.  She'll think she's not loved if she doesn't get one this year!   I'll have to go round a few more shops and, if all else fails, make her one on the computer.

Well, Just thought I would let you know what I have done in the end.I see him for the last time on Sat morning before V. day and dont see him till the friday after that.
He is away in his lorry from Sat lunch time.
So......
I have baked a choccie cake, cut it into a heart shape, and wrapped a ribbon round it :D
Then put it in a red tin, wrapped in cling film with a couple of daft teddies to stop it moving, and wrapped that all in tissue paper!!!
Then wraped the tin in red tissue paper and then put it in a carrier bag and put it in the freezer.
Going to tell him not to have it in his cab, then by the time it defrosts it will be monday :D :D :D :D :D
Now just got to make sure I remember to give it to him on Saturday morning!!!!!! LMAO And tell him not to bash it about to much!!!!!
Oh bought a card as well.
What do you recon.???
Lea :)

Well I'll be just sat on my own all day, oh well at least my dogs love me, and I'm sure that Ickle Man will give me big sloppy kisses :d  I don't think that the postman will have any problems with my mail either and I can't see anything exciting happening at work, fancy someone but unfortunately I believe that he's got a girlfriend, booo !  Oh well maybe one day, I'm not that bad a catch :d

Stephen got a HUGE Valentines day card from 3 of his pupils yesterday :D :D They are 12 year old Goths and think he is the business :p :p  The boys in the class were amused when they saw it as they kept telling Stephen he would be in trouble with his wife

:D :p
- By Lea Date 12.02.05 18:16 UTC
LMAO. Could he walk in the door when he got home :D :D :D
Well, its gone!!!! He is going to put it in the box on the back of the lorry, and seeing as it is a new lorry it will be fine!!!!!!!
But he has guessed what it is :( :( :(

My friend and her on/off boyfriend had a row on Saturday.  She had already got all his pressies (a coupld of designer shirts and a new watch).  She ended up pouring blackcurrant squash all over the shirts and left the tags on them, smashed the watch to pieces, ripped up the card and posted it all through his door!!

Mat made me breakfast in bed this morning - toast cut into hearts, bless him!!
I'm cooking something nice for dinner though not quite sure what yet.

And that is the extent of our Valentine's - we think we're soppy enough that we don't need to send cards to each other or expensive gifts - broken or not broken!!

:D
