Hi, I'm looking for tips to get rid of a very pungent smell (suspected fox poo!) out of a leather collar.  My staff has taken to rubbing her face and neck on piles of leaves containing smelly stuff and now the smell seems to be impregnated into her new collar.  I've tried washing it with hot soapy water but this hasn't shifted it and I can't take the smell anymore.  I think I will have to be careful what I use on it as it is a traditional staffy collar with brass emblems (sp) and studs in it.  I have a leather cleaning kit for the sofa but don't know if the chemicals in that would irritate her.  All tips gratefully received.

Hiya......fox poo is horrible!......the thing i use to get it off my beagles is good old tomato juice..or even tomato sauce if there's no juice around.Try it on a bit undernieth the collar to see if it stains though!....it washes off the beagles white bits ok and doesnt irritate them.
Regards
Pauline
