Hi!
Was wondering if anyone here does pilates exercises? I've just started reading ''Pilates for life'' by Darcey Bussell and it looks really good! Just wanted to know if it really works as well as she (the stick thin dancer :D) claims it does? Also, Can anyone guide me on where to get a good mat!? (Apparently it can't be a yoga mat but has to be a special pilates mat which are hard to find )
Thanks for any replies! :D

Hi Sara, I'm not sure about the mat, but I go to Pilates classes once a week and I find them really good.  I used to be a dancer (my knees gave up before I wanted to  ) and lost a lot of my flexibility when I stopped training but am finding it is slowly returning with pilates!  It really makes you think about your posture (always important) and if you do it correctly and are commited to doing it regularly, I think you'll see real results!  Also, once you've got the hang of tightening your belt muscle and doing exercises with it held in, I found it more beneficial than doing sit-ups! (yes, I am a regular at my gym!)  Have you had a search on Google to see if anywhere online sells the mats?  Actually, thinking about it, I'm sure I got mine in an ordinary sports shop?  Good luck with it! :)
