Wonder if anyone has any suggestions, on the strange thing dougal has started to do. He will go out into the garden and play and come in when called. However last thing at night, he waits for me to call him, then wanders a few steps, and lies down completly flat, and waits till I pick him up and bring him in.(Not a problem he is only small and a Havanesse) If I go in and close the door he will come to the door and yelp. I open the door and the whole process starts again. Its almost as if he would like me to put him in his bed and tuck him up. The thing that worries me is it a very submissive position that he puts himself in.

Bet you taught him to do it Doodledo! Dogs are strange creatures but tend to be very logical. Something you have done has convinced him that this is what should happen!

Dont worry about the submissive thing. He can be submissive with you as his leader but still be dominant with others.

Regards, John

At least yours will lie down.  Try having a 6 year old, muscle bound dog that won't and taking him to obedience classes, no wonder my shoulders bad.  There again I also have a nearly 2 year old who when he lies down rolls over on his side with his front legs outstretched awaiting me to lie down on the floor next to him so that he can wrap his paws around my neck and give me a kiss.  Amusing for the other obedience people but not for me :d

:D:D Glad to hear that others get embarrassed in classes. Will Mr Muscle lie down any other time?

No Mr Muscle (like that :d).  Doesn't lie down much to be truthful.  He's only just started lying down in my car and I've had him now for 6 months, but he's getting there.  He does stay in his down now so things are bucking up.
