Well Sweep came back home earlier this evening, she was very groggy when I went to pick her up & just one lonely wag of the tail but as soon as we lifted her in the car got a few more & even more when shegot home :) Amazing how they still do that when theri in pain & so out of it isn`t it! She lay down & went to sleep when I soothed her but woke up short while ago for the loo. Very wobbly on her legs but managed to do everything, had to carry her out then back in. Offered her a drop of chicken stock to drink but she wasn`t fussed, am hoping she`ll have a peaceful night. I`ll be sleeping with one ear open!!!

Poor little soul! She must be sore but I bet you wont be able to keep her down by the morning!
I'll never understand them C. When Big Bad Bethany was spayed the vet nurse brought this poor tottering dog through to me. I walked her gently to the back of me car, opened the tail gate and bent down to pick her up just as she jumped in! When I got her home she went outside with Kate, rolled onto her back to show her the wound then raced her to the top of the garden and back!
Arr well, we will now have to see what happens in two months time.
Best wishes, John
Hope so J! :) Think your Bethany must have been more stoical than Sweep, she couldn`t even stand let alone walk, knew she was feeling rough tho cos only managed the one wag when she she saw me ;(
Don`t envy you at all J & can`t even offer advice except to say, its hard!

Sweeps a lot better this morning :) she`s walking ok tho a bit gingerly, she`s all there & focused. She didn`t wake during the night & was in the same position as last night till I got up, only thing is, when she had a little drink this morning she brought it back! She`s sleeping right now but she does keep having these little shivers, apart from that she`s as comfortable as can be expected, as they say! :)
Thanks guys :)

Aww - give her a hug - she may well be feeling quite fragile - but I expect that she is lapping up the fuss!!

Shes improving all the time :) :) She was sick again this afternoon after a drink, but apart from that she just wants to sleep. She refused something to eat this evening but had a few spoonfuls couple of hours ago. Vet popped in to check her after his clinic & she`s developed a redness either side of her wound. I think its an allergy to where they shaved her cos she had something similar when she had the op for bloat so I`m putting h/pathic cream on it. But all in all shes doing well & is calm in herself, oh yes she went on her bed this afternoon & turned over to let me see her wound! Had to tell what a brave girl she`s being ;) :D Mostly it`s less worse than I thought, not like she was when she had the other op at all. And not like when Bonnie was speyed either, poor Bon took days to recover :(
