can anyone help me my bitch is in season but the dog is just not interested
is this because they are together all the time? or is it because she is not ready yet

Yes! Sorry, I couldn't help that!!! :) Either could be the reason. If you've ever told the dog off for mounting the bitch then he may have the idea that he shouldn't. Or of course she may just not be ready. Sorry I'm not more help.

Regards, John

From my personal experience, you should keep them appart from when she first comes in heat i.e has a show, she should be ready around the 13th day from first start of show, by this time your male should be rearing to go - it may help if you put them together if it is their first time.

If the pair are kept together throughout the duration of her season, the male could be tiring himself out running around and trying to mate when she is not ready.

let me know how you get on.
