Hi all, I pick up my Boxer Puppy on Friday, and she will be 8 weeks old, so will have one of her injections, and then another one at 12 weeks. Could someone tell me when she will be able to go out for walks? I have read somewhere they are aloud ou straight away after their second injection, but have also read that you have to wait two weeks after their second injection, then they are aloud of walkies!
Please could you help me, I so want to get all this right!
Many thanks.....

Hi Guest,
How excited you must be. My first dog was a boxer, she was just the best thing ever!!! I am so jealous.
Anyway, about the vaccinations. It is normal to wait at least one week after having her second vaccination before you can take her out safely. You can carry her out and about though to get her used to the different noises etc
Good Luck
Debbie
Hi guest how lovely a boxer baby for you to spoil.I have boxers personally i would give it 10days after her second injection before you take her out and about but nothing to stop you carrying her around your local area. good luck with her and may she bring you many years of boxer happiness
I would suggest, even though he has had one injection, to take him to the vets soon after you get him, for 3 reasons,
1) you can get him checked over and hopefully give na full bill of health,
2) as a socialisation experience, puppies that don't always visit the vets for injections and such are likely to be less fearful, as they can see it as a pleasant experience. I work in a vets and see a lot of dogs who are usually very outgoing become fearful and aggressive when in the vets.
3) to ask any questions you might have.
Good luck with your new puppy!
