Topic Dog Boards / Health / Renal Support Diet

My little 13 year old Bichon is suffering from kidney failure and heart murmer. She has had 4 attacks of heart failure but is recovering. She completely lost her appetite and has been put on Waltham's Renal Support food (or similar) for the rest of her life. I finally got her to eat by liquidising this food with a very little marmite and water and she took this from a syringe and has gone on to lap it from a bowl. Are there any other such foods available which she might find more palatable and give some variety to her diet? Any suggestions I have made to the vet about cooking my own food etc have been rejected due to the very strict analysis of the ingredients she is allowed.

Any advice would be welcome.
