Be careful ! Some of these 'parties' are supervised by very inexperienced people and the puppies are allowed to run riot :( This can do untold damage to some puppies. Find out first exactly what happens at the party and then decide whether to go or not :)

Can't remember exactly how old your puppies are - but think that they aren't too little ?? They are probably better off going to puppy training classes :) Puppy parties are really for people whose puppies have just had their jabs and they are often the first contact with other dogs :)

My local vet holds regular puppy parties so it might be worth asking your own vet to see if they run any in your own surgery.  At least this way they are organised by people who know what they are doing.

theres good & bad. one of the problems is that the puppies that attend tend to have very little respct for older dogs & presumme that all dogs want to play & seem not to understand the "p*** off" body language that older dogs give out.
there are good ones though, but procceed with caution!

Few bottles of wine, some chicken wings and a bag of dorito dips!!

Are you sure I can't tempt anyone???

Seriously though hee hee! I'd just like my pups to have some play mates...they are 8 and 7 mths and are very very soppy and friendly, they absolutely love other dogs although Rose tends to spend most of her time on her back flirting letting the other dogs lick her belly????!?!?!?!? Nut case.

My dogs do have respect for other dogs and are very submissive when they know that they are unwanted company...they're just playful and would like some real doggy friends...I'll have to check with the vets..

They did go to Puppy classes but no on would let there dogs play with them because they are Staffies...and apparently vicious>?? :(

oh what a shame your staffs werent allowed to play :(
what about normal training classes, ours have their mates there to have a play with (or not in nellies case)

The only dogs in our class were a Pug, a Cavalier and a little scotty dog, I suppose Staffies are just abit too lively the owners were alittle nervous of them.... I wouldnt minded so much but the pups wanted to play it was the owners who wouldnt let them and I though that was quite mean.

Fortunatley the two ladies who took the training class gave them lots of extra cuddles to make up for their disappointment.

I just thought the idea of socializing puppies is to....socialize the duh!

I'll was going to try and enrol them in another class in Feb so I'll see how that goes.

thats really sad we took our Staff to a puppy socialising class straight after her vaccs and it was great for her . Where do people get off on not allowing Staffs carte blanche. They should have at least given you a chance.
We only went 4 times because there were a few people there who really didint have a clue and completely monopolised the time of the trainer but the times we were there really did help. They used to send Giorgia into the large tube to get the jack russell out who would always stop to have a wash, it was really funny. Thing is she still really loves Jack Russells as well as all other dogs.

sorry just read your message again and realised it was the owners not the organisers who prevented you from playing.

Our vet does them every 3 months or so .Its ideal for her new doggy clients to meet and its good PR for her business. The pups all have a good time meeting people and other dogs. We play games and do a quiz to win prizes.  Why not ask your local vets or suggest it to them?  I know a couple of ringcraft classes that have also done it.
