I would like to purchase a female Kooikerhondje puppy - where can I find a breeder in the USA.  I would appreciate any help in regards to this matter.

Thank you!

its koi-ke-er-hund

as my dad was corrected at Crufts :)

John, I fail to see how they are like a small toller?  Different ears, head shape, colour, tail carage

http://www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/discoverdogs/gundog/kooikerhandje.html is what they are.  Smart little dogs! :)

My friend who has one says it's "Kweeker-hondy"
:)

It's a dutch name for the dog. Guess it's a dutch breed. Don't know the breed but I recognize the language (since I'm Dutch :) )
Hond means dog
Hondje = like doggie

Looks a bit like a small Irish red-and-white setter, but more orange than red ...

If you go on website,  http://www3.sympatico.ca/dianelumsden/Kooiker/Home.html   it names 4 Breeders in USA. It is actually The Kooikerhondje Club of Cananda, but gives Breeders in other countries.  Good Luck

Ice Queen has the correct way of saying it.  I worked for Pat Chapman who had the Shargleam Flatcoats, she also had 3 Kooikers who did well in the import register classes.

Have to agree that Ice Queen's way of saying it is the one that I've always known the Kooiker people to use.  Seem nice dogs but they can be a bit funny with other dogs.

Pat's Kooikers were the first I ever saw. I had a chat to her as she came out of the ring with one. (I believe it was at Milton Keynes) shortly before her death. She was due back in the ring almost immediatly so suggested I go to her bench to see the other two. Pat was a lovely woman who never passed you by without saying hello.

i met one one once,it was on the beach on its holidays. i amazed the owners by knowing what it was!!!! & myself-that i was right!
the owners seemed to think it was more of a "working" type of CKCS than anything else

John, if you went to the bench to see the others that day, you may have seen me!  I was the only one of the kennelgirls who was interested in showing, so I went to most of the shows to help.  I sometimes handled one of the Kooikers - Valleyrise Eastern Promise of Shargleam, as she seemed to have a bond with me, she was lovely bitch.
Pat was a generous lady.  I was working for her when she was ill.  I can't believe that it's nealry 12 yrs since she passed, such a wonderful 'doggy' mind.

I distinctly remember there was somebody sitting on the bench at that time. I also seem to remember that one was sitting on her lap! :) I guess that must have been you!

I first saw Pat at the Flatcoat Champ show many years ago. I had me video camera with me and as she walked out of the ring after the Brace class I pointed the camera at her. She stopped and without a word, set both dogs up for me to film. The next time I saw her was at Windsor. I was walking one of Polly's (on here) Flatcoats and Pat was walking towards me and stopped for a chat. In my experience she was always very genuine person who never passed you by and was always ready to help.

Best wishes, John
