Phone the hotel and ask them how you get to the NEC

Hi Georgina,  good advice from Sheena, as there are several Holiday Inn Expresses  in the area.  One is actually on the NEC site, but on the outskirts, so a longish walk, but a very quick taxi ride!

Hello

The best advice phone the hotel - you can't miss the NEC anyhow any tazi driver will get you there. :)

And museums there are loads in B'ham and the train from the NEC goes straight into B;ham city centre much cheaper and quicker than a taxi.
This is a link to the museums and art galleries in B'ham as well as whats on hope it helps. Just click on the link to museums hope the link works :)

One museum near to the NEC too Motorcycle museum just reopened after a fire last year. Never been but I believe it is good if you like Motorcycles.

Take care and welcome to B'ham I hope you enjoy your trip.

We are lucky tinkers as we are staying at the CROWNE PLAZA in the NEC grounds. YE hah!!  Car safe all day there , no queing on day of show in the traffic, very little distance to walk.  Bliss!!

lucky youj Danny, always thouyght it looked nice, but when I chekced it said no pets, so booked Hoiday Inn again.  Its a bit furhter than Crowne Plaza and Hilton, but rooms are bigger than Hilton (unless you get a Suite!) and very dog firendly too.

Gwen,

Have you stayed at the Novotel in the NEC grounds before.? I have been told it is Ok but it is a chain like the travel lodges also so was just wondering. I think we have paid £155 regardless if single, double or twin..

Hi Pam,

No, sorry never stayed at it.  The Novotel here looks fine, bit more "Htel" than a Travelodge.  We always try to get the Holiday Inn Expresses, if there is one near, as they are dog friendly,k and not too big, so no miles and miles of corridors to get the dogs along, and they dont mimnd dogs in the lounges area either!

Hi Gwen,

Thanks, I am told it is very nice but thought it we were paying reasonable amount of money them we would wan't a nice night so thought I would ask around :-)).

I don't think I will be taking the bitch I have been showing last year as she has had puppies  and getting her coat back in shape may take me a bit longer . I have entered in just incase she is looking nice but I think it may become a shopping trip and a chance to have a good natter with everyone :-))
