iam awaiting dna profiling certificates,  when you receive them does it state what colouring your dog/bitch carries and therefore will help you plan future matings ie to avoid yellow in fcrs, liver/tan in gordon setters ?
and if anything what else does your dna certificate show?

All my certificate has is name, date, registration no of dog, photo of dog, and a bar code at the bottom.

All they are for is checking in the future in the event of a dispute in ownership & if there is a discovery of a marker gene for a genetic defect then dogs on their database can be checked Maybe in the future full DNA profiling will be the means of identification

I very much doubt they will tell you the colour genes in a DNA profile. As MM says, it is just a means of identification. There is a DNA test for colour for both Labradors and Flatcoats but even if they saw it I think they would not say unless you paid the extra for this test as well!

How long did it take for your certificates to come through? I sent my sample off beginning of December and not recieved anything back yet.
