A non slip surface like a rubber mat in the bath will give her a lot more confidence and should help her enjoy the experience :)

In the back garden with four or so buckets of warm water, and a jug.

'Fraid I never bath mine, unless they have rolled in something and then I try just to wash it off with a hose - if it's too much then I resort to shampoo, but just with cold water in the garden :)
Daisy
I use the shower attachment that goes onto the bath taps. As soon as Chance sees them going on he's in the bath standing waiting :D I haven't even got the water running ;)
A rubber bath mat is essential. As is towels everywhere, and a shower-proof all-in-one-suit of some sort

Dogs do like to shake :) The head is the last thing to be done. I do one side of him, then ask him to turn round and do the other side. He doesn't like his tail being done and will sit on it if given the chance :D

Wear next to nothing yourself - you'll get soaked!!! Talk all the time and laugh - let your pup know theres nothing to be scared of. (Dont laugh but I sing silly "made up" songs to mine :O) When shampooing, work it in as if you are stroking the pup and enjoy the experience! :D :D
An open top car and a car wash. :D
Or a fire engine hose.

P.S. Fillis, I too make up songs to sing to my dogs. In fact I would go so far as to say, they both have their own 'theme tunes', or should that be 'out of tunes'?

I do mine in the shower, with only pants on and talk all the time, telling them what a good boy/girl they are, never put shampoo around the face.
Good luck let us know how you get on

Mine does S*xy black ones especially when she's in season
Bath mat is essential. Use warm water, and I start by showering the all over the body/legs as far as the neck then applying the shampoo. Rinse this all off well and then I concentrate on the head - try not to get any water in the ears or soap in the eyes. Hand squeeze the water off the dog (if hair is longish) and a rough towel dry whilst in the bath. Remove from bath and stand back. That's a full bath which Oscar has about every 6- 8 week's or so. Otherwise it's a weekly legs, bottom and beard wash in the bath. Provide with treats at the end of course so that it becomes a tolerable experience.

I am thankful that my lot only get a couple of Baths a year. Usually when moulting and sometimes before a major show if I think they ahve got rather grubby (say after a long period of rain). Still probably only get two to Six baths a year.
well, hopefully she'll enjoy it if she hasn't had it already. my monty hates having a bath even though most GSPs love water. we're looking forward to taking him to the beach for the 1st time in summer!

Well, I did it :-)
The hardest part was getting her in there, she knew what was in store for her when she got to the top of the stairs and quickly headed back down again! I managed to entice her back up with a treat though, but she did not want to get in at all, I've only ever picked up my mums old dog (cairn x JR) so lifting this 4 stone boxer into a bath full of water was a task, but once she was in she was fine, she just stood there and let me get on with it, she did jump out before I was quite ready for her to but it was ok, then she went daft and I thought she was gonna tear a hole in my carpet.
SO thats that done, thanks for all the advice :-)
Viv and Cleo (clean and sparkling!)
Lots of towels..... luckily my boy dosesnt mind and jumps in himself, but when had enough does tend to try & get out..! so hubby standing by to keep him occupied, and head last, then you get a shower..and all done..:)

She'll find the mud and roll in it in under 3 hours!! :D
LOL you were very lucky :D
My three also know when it's bath time, the oldest Misty loves the bath.
Quite happily stay there whilst you soap her up etc.
The other two WELL - Abby is quite a big girl 31.55kgs and has learnt if she sticks
her back legs out as wide as she can the human has great difficulty in trying to get
her in the bath (well at 5ft 2ins tall trying to man handle a Boxer in the bath by myself is blooming hard)
....:D She's too intelligent for her own good.
Sophie (1yo) also freezes goes rigid that you can't really manoevure her in easily but then tries to jump
out if you don't have everything ready and to hand.
I have a bath mat down and tend to use the shower head, I don't fill the bath up with water and have
plenty of towels ready for the floor and the dogs, plus a change of clothes for myself as I always end up soaked!
Then the little rotters go out in the garden and get filthy again........arrrggghhhhh Boxers don't you just love em! :D

Try spreading their fave treat such as peanut butter, cream cheese etc. on the edge of the bath where there head is,so they can lick it off, keeps em' occupied and happy for at least a few seconds, this way the bath is not all bad.
I suppose everyone elses dogs runs around a mile a minute after the bath, and rolling around and digging at the carpet, probaly tring to get the yucky shampoo smell off of them ;)
:D Yes but the 'little' blighters love eating the bath bubbles or trying to
nick & eat the soap when the human is in the bath. :D
Yup Boxers love the soapy taste, mine constantly lick the soapy shampoo when they are being
shampooed.
My first Boxer used to eat soap :( Used to give her belly ache but didn't stop her eating the
next bar that was within reach (that the careless human had forgotten her soapy tastes and left it within
reach)
Strange 'little' beasties really but wouldn't be without em as they make me smile so much :D
Hi didnt find bathing my old boxer girl a problem as many times after i had, had a bath she would just hop over the side and stand there looking for the remaing bubbles, and i used to wonder why people called boxers in general clowns, as for her son well it was a battle of the fittest he was in his element outside with the hose pipe on him and shampoo, the middle girl just stands and quiet enjoys the bath its the hair dryer afterwards she detests, now the pup of 7mths hates the bath but rolls over for the hair dryer even without him being bathed, gee i live in a household of fools, but life without them would be very dull and boring

I don't bath mine, but Willis likes a bath when he has the chance. Usually when I am in it.
Have you seen the scene in corrie in the round sunken bath when the dane jumps in and it drops through the ceiling? That could be me if Willis were allowed upstairs and I looked like Cilla. Which I don't :D
in the summer they only have baths after going in the lake as the water stinks in the summer due to all the ducks and geese that are there, and then its a hose down in the garden bit of shampoo if im lucky then dry off in the sun. In the winter esp when its rained alot they get bathed a bit more regular, Jack more than the other two more because he is white or i should say most of the time he is grey due to the amount of mud, they get bathed in the bath in the winter its impossible to keep jack out of it and he loves it when it pamper time (trimming off all the extra hair) as he gets me all to himself for an hour or so, tess used to jump in the bath no problem but since having to have her face and feet washed on a daily basis where she had to get in the bath twice a day and have special shampoo due to her having a yeast infection she hates the word bath and refuses point blank to get in, and Bruce i know can get in the bath although i have never seen him do it, but the dustbin lid prints in the bath give him away :D . Infact Bruce loves his baths so much i have got up in the morning to find the shower running, and last week wecame home from shopping only to find the bath half full of water and the tap still running, although the look of relief on bruces face when i got home was funny, i think he started to panic about the amount of water there was in the bath :D
tanya

i put mine in the bath, then get a shower thingy, get in with them in shorts, then get them wet, then they get me wet, then shampoo, then get them wet again, then give them a dry then they run around like lunies trying to get drier & all the old scents back on them
