I have been searching the house for my whistle that I've had for 25 years, I've come to the conclusion that I'm not going to find it.I feel lost without it! Does anyone know where I can get one of these I can't even remember where I bought it.It was a black whistle I think it said Acme on it.If I get the chance I think that I'll buy 2 or 3 next time.

I bought 2 whistles when I ordered mine thinking if I lose one at least I'll have another and Yes I lost one on the first day.
Mine is an acme 210.5 and stupid me can't find the address from whom I got it from. I do know that when I was looking the price of a whistle was reasonable but some of the p&p rates were more than the whistle so I went with someone called SMITH???
If you type in acme whistles I'm sure it will come up with a list of suppliers, just look for someone with smith in the name.

If you do a search for Acme on google, you will find the acme site.  You can also buy them from places like turner richards and I've even seen them in local pet shops.  I have an acme 210 and a half, without a pea.

You can never have too many as they get lost in pockets, cars, game bags, etc.  I always keep one on my keyring as I usually have my keys with me.

I forgot to say that we can also get one in our local gunsmiths shop (if you have one that is).

Hi jackyjat,
Could you please tell me how you get your 'active' link in your post?
You know the, the address is in blue and you only have to click on it to go directly to that site?
Thanks,

Get a lanyard with the next one so you can hang it around your neck. That way it will always be there. I keep one in the car, one in my jacket, one in the pocket of my body warmer and of course one around my neck and I still managed to go out one day without one!

The string you hang your whistle on.

Generally green or black nylon with a turks head knot, or you can get plaited leather ones etc etc

Thank's Tohme mine was hand made didn't know you could buy something specifically for the job.

The leather ones are nice. If it is hanging around a bare neck the cord ones can give you quite a "Rope burn" whereas the leather ones always feel nice. One of mine is a rolled leather and the other is plaited with a turks head knot. It looks good but the simple rolled one feels better. You will find them on the Turner Richards site.

Ange, you aren't too far from me and I can point you in the right direction for a gunsmiths in Cheltenham when I have confirmed with my son the correct address, I can visualise the shop and the name of the guy that owns it.  When I get home I will pm you.

Harry to make the link just type [link]http//:www.XXXXXXXXXXXXX[/link] inserting your web address instead of XXXX of course!  Then you cross your fingers and hope for the best!

I didn't realise there were different pitches , I don't know what mine was so like you Spotty dog I've gone for a 210.5 I'm sure the dogs will get used to it and I've ordered two and a couple of lanyards.

Lower numbers, higher pitch Ange. I use a 211.5 but it really matters not providing you always get the same number. Even if it is not the same pitch your dog will soon get use to it although of course, if you were working your dog you might not have time for your dog to get use to it!

Thanks John. Well my whistles and lanyards arrived this morning at about 7.30. I couldn't believe just how quick they were. All without leaving home,I still find that amazing!

You'll never believe it, I was rummaging in a drawer this afternoon looking for gloves and guess what I found?  I had given up looking! I was so chuffed, it is the same pitch as the new ones I ordered too its just slimmer.
