Just remember its very muddy on the parking area today it was murder  iIhad to wait about 20 mins for someone to pull me out about 10 of us stuck in the same area. They do have a tractor who is pulling people out but that arrived about 5 mins to late. So thank you to the very nice man who had the tow rope and for the chap who waited behind to help us all. Regards Gwen

Thanks the lord for 4 wheel drive, as we got of fine.

My friends whose males I bred, and show the Open dog had a lovely day to make up for the debacle she had at the Obedience show at the weekend.  Her boy was doing a lovely 'A' round when they came to retrievfe, wwhich unfortunately landed close to the barrier/posts.  dog picked up retrieve, snifffed the air and coked his leg.  This meant he was disqualified!  The judge kindly allowed him to finish the round but wasn't marked.  Earlier in the Novice class he was actually last as his handler was marked for 'Harsh Handling'.  She had been doing her heelwork when she stood on his foot, he yelled out (the big brave boy he isn't :D).

She was not looking forward to repeating the journey from Somerset to Stafford again, and then on Monday or Tuesday they ahd snow and he cut his Pad deeply on something lying under it, and was lame.

Well he was in a decent Open dog class, managed to be sound and won it, and then won his second CC :D

I told the judge his main aaim in life was to be an Obedience dog, and he suggested he should concentrate on showing, lol :D

& who won two classes with her bitch ? Barbara ? & the Rex CC with the imported boy to boot ;) as well as breeding the Dog CC winner LOl

Get the boy with two CCs made up & tell his owner to go for the Obedience the penny will drop albeit a bit later than with the collies & GSDs etc

Do you think by the time he is a Veteran in November???  My Lexi's brother also won Junior dog, so not a bad day for me.  Even manged a VHC in good Open bitch class with my Veteran :D  Bryony also got a good third in Post Grad dog with her son.

Why not, I judged a dog once in Beginners that had been hard to train & the handler retired him that day as he had won his 1st 1st at 13 !!!!! & he was a X breed the size of a GSD He was just about controlled as he was a bouncer !!! his owner always said he was part Kangeroo LOLOLOL

She usually does better than that.  Mostly gets in top 10 or so in Novice.  She does have aproblem with sniffing in the stays which causes him to go down in his sit before time, or sniff near where he is in the down.  bit hard when your a scent hunteing breed :D
- By Moonmaiden Date 22.01.05 00:57 UTC
Hasn't she tried the vicks vapour stuff in training ? Stopped my first Beardie you can use it in breed training ! Mind you if it was NAATS apparantly every post had been peed on :(
- By Brainless [gb] Date 22.01.05 09:21 UTC
Yep it was NAATS and he wasn't the only one eliminated.  I think her problems stem from the fact that her dogs are very obedient and can be left on her say so without tethering.  Sounds stupid but they are used to doing a lot of causal relaxed stays, so I think once a bit of time goes by he thinks 'Oh well best get comfy then'.  Infortunately he never does it in training, as he knows he would be corrected.  They are very clever these Elkhounds, now persuading them to do what you want is the difficult bit, as they always think they have a better way.
- By Moonmaiden Date 22.01.05 21:24 UTC
ROFLMAO That sounds like one of my cavaliers he does his down stays on his back snoring !!! as well as flashing the girls !
- By Brainless [gb] Date 22.01.05 21:35 UTC
Oh don't start me on that.  My lexi will lie on her back on the floor or her bench with her legs akimbo and sleep.  quite unperturbed by the odd cold wet nose poked in her nether regions, she may open an eye.

She was lying like this by the main ring waiting for Junior stakes, and the looks we got!! :D
