Just over 5 months ago I had a fluffy ball rolling around the kitchen, was sleeping for 4 hours at a time (on a good night) and mopping up puddle after puddle, despite taking him outside in all weathers every half hour. Tonight I mistook Busby for his big brother when he gave me a nudge to tell me it was tea time. It nearly brought a tear to my eye.
Why haven't I noticed the puppy coat coming out, and his adult coat growing, even though he's brushed every day? When did the long skinny tail sprout all those feathers and turn into a big fluffy one? Why didn't I notice when he finally stopped mouthing - or eating the cushions on the kitchen chairs? When did he stop needing a wee every hour?
And doesn't time fly when you're having fun?! :)

Look forward to the next puppy :)
I am planning but have a remit of 5 years before we can seriously have one but I am working on reducing this by a cunning plan :D

Its amazing and sad when you realise that they aren't puppies anymore isn't it! My eldest is 3 next month and the youngest will be 2 in april. I look at their puppy pictures and can't imagine them every looking like that. Its strange i spend half the time when they are puppies wishing that they'd grow up and behave, and then once they are adults i half wish they were puppies again! I'm in the same boat Lucy, i'd love another pup but can't see it happening for at least 5 years. Mind you it doesn't stop me planning. Only last night i was thinking about how i could rearrange my work hours to go to my usual puppy class!

The worse thing is you relise that the first litter you bred are nearly 7...it didn't hit us till we saw one of the girlys the other day and she's gone grey :( the boy we have hasn't got a grey hair and acts like a puppy (just like his mother!)
I remember feeling simililarly when I looked at my youngest (my show cocker) and noticed that he'd lost his "puppy shape", grown into his skull and had become a proper wee boy!! Even he still acts very much like a juvenile! :D

Yesterday was my Tula's TENTH birthday, she was from my first litter, and it seems like only a year or so ago that I was watching these newborn pups, and now she is a great Grandmother.
