I am an experienced Border Collie owner , who is looking take on a puppy of a different breed. Would my life style suit a Bullmastiff and visa versa?

I want a dog that would get on well with my other animals (2 minature ponies , 7 cats , 1 elderly collie and 1 pet chicken). He would be living in my moderately sized garden , and allowed in the house whilst we're in.
I work full time but my partners only part time and is usually home by 12pm.
he would have a minimum of half hour walk in the morning and the same at night , during which time I feed the ponies.
he need to be generally friendly and suitable to be left off the lead in dog walking areas, but should also be capable of guarding myself and my property if neccessary.

Thanks very much D.D.
