Sorry guest, if you are sure you this is the breed for you, you should already know about them. Maybe you should come back and ask again when you know more, and it is 'Rottweiler' not 'rottweila'!

Hi Guest,

Go the kennel club website (try Google search) and look for info on the breed there and also a note of the many clubs for the breed in the UK.  Incidentally, the correct spelling is *Rottweiler* and info will be found under the Discover Dogs section - go from there to "Working Group" and scroll down ;)

With no apparent previous experience with the breed, the best place to start is with a breed club who can furnish you with details on temperament, exercise, feeding, socialising, training and countless other things vital to know about any breed - particularly a large guarding one.  They may also advise on dog shows in your area where you can meet some of the breed and their owners in person and learn even more still.   This breed is not an impulse buy to be based on looks alone  - it is a large and demanding breed and it is important that you do a lot of research before undertaking the responsibility of buying one and ensure that you purchase a puppy from a reputable breeder who is very thorough re health and character.  Again, a breed club would be able to point you in the right direction when you have put in a lot of effort and thought about whether this is actually the right breed for you.

HTH,
Regards, Teri :)

Hello guest,

sounds to me like you don't know much about the breed!!!!  When getting powerful dog such as a Rott, you don't get the dog first and then read up info about it, that is sadly how so many end up in rescue :-(  Why don't you join and then there'll be lots of members willing to give good advice about owning them :-)
