Is there anyone going to the Retford Canine Society show at newark-notts on March 27TH??  Reason i am asking is because, I dont know what to do!!  aaagghhhh!!   Do I report to someone on arrival? do I collect a pass or ticket?? If someone is going can I tag along for support?   I am sure its not as scary as it seems, but I am also worried about my 6 month old pug being in a junior class against dogs up to 18 months old who will look  more mature and behave better. To be honest I just want to enjoy the experience, win or not, my puggy is a winner at home anyway!   Will the judge take in to account that my puggy is a puppy, so if he misbehaves and dances about we wont get too penalised??  I have done standing training with baby and some ringcraft classes and he is a little tinker.

Its fine...don't worry!! When you get there you don't need to 'book in' or anything.Just find the table where they have the catalogues and if you've ordered one give them your name and they'll give it to you.
Find your ring(theres usually alist on each judges table telling you which breeds are judged in each ring) and relax. When your class is called in you will be given your number(helps if you have looked up your number in your catalogue). Then just do as the judge asks....if your not sure ask the judge to explain! You've paid your money...its YOUR time!! Don't worry if your dog plays up...hes a baby and its allowed...honest!.Just enjoy yourself....and let your pup enjoy himself too...thats all that matters!
Your pup should not be penalised for being a pup in a jnr class although if its tight you may loose out to 'maturity' but in the end the judge will want your pup to look like a pup...not a jnr!
Good luck

As the others have said, dont worry!  The age thing should not affect you, my pug puppy has twice been awarded BoB over adults (inc here mum and aunt) at open shows, aged just 6 months.  And you probably wont find a whole lot of other pugs in attendance, just a few at an open show.  Havent showed pugs in your part of the world, but op here we usually have anything from 3 to 6 present, in totoal, for all classes.  Goood luck and have fun.

bye

Also if yurs is the highest placed puppy in the class you need to tell the steward and come into challenge for Best Puppy in Breed after they have had all unbeaten class winners in for Best Of Breed.  My puppy went Reserve Best Puppy in show at her first show, even though she was second in her breed class, as it was an adult class.

Dont worry, just go and enjoy it, My 6month lab took 1st yesterday and that was after piddling over judges hand. At my 1st show, I found people were only to willing to help and keep me right.
