Hi,
Are pigs ears good for a dogs digestion or diet? How often do you give your dog a pigs ear as a treat? Even though they are the most disgusting things I have ever come across, my dog loves them!
Thanks

My mom had a Spaniel that lived to the ripe old age of 17 years, she would have pigs ears almost daily, she loved them and they did her no harm at all. I have a large Deerhound lurcher pup he eats about 3-4 a week keeps him occupied for 20 minutes and does not seem to do him any harm, you just have to watch out for choking with the last bit, if your not sure remove any small parts and throw away.

I did actually notice that he made funny coughing noises after eating them but even though i didn't know why, he always seemed ok. Thanks for the advice though - unfortunately i will have to keep on buying them!

my dogs love them also had no probs so far they get 2 per week

I read somewhere, probably on here, that they can be very fattening. It depends how they were dried as some of them are deep fried.

my dog also loves these, but unfortunetly she tends to choke on them so cant feed them

I only use raw pigs ears, never the cooked ones. My Malamutes have two each for breakfast when I have managed to get them from the butchers
