Well Zelli, dogs & I were all up at some horrendous hour of the morning to go to Zelli's first cat show in East Kilbride.  After the initial worries of the vetting in & "will she be ok with the judges" etc.   We all had to vacate the hall & then we were allowed back in after 12.

Well Zelli had a good day, 1st & BOB in her Open (Kitten) class & she won her 3 side classes too. :)   So I'm very pleased and she did settle down to take it all in her stride.   Met some really nice folk too & a few that maybe weren't!  Very long day on my feet though, dog showing is easier!

Can i just ask what happens at a catshow?

The cat is put in a pen, you have to leave for 2 hours whilst judging takes place and then come back.   The judge will have a steward who takes the cat out of the pen, it is paced on the table, the judge checks bite, coat, eye colour etc.  Then it is put back in the pen and the judge will look at it's expression head etc.  (I think!)   Withholding at cat shows happens all the time, at the drop  of a hat and some of the crits can be straight to the point too......not for the easily offended!    It's not nice to find your cat is 2nd & it was the only one in it's class!

That happens at dog shows too! (The coming second to an imaginary entrant, I mean)
