dont know if you remeber the post i put on here about my friends collie with the dry eyes?
weell here is the update.

took the dog to the eye specliasist, & the dry eyes were being caused by the medication that the dog is on for colitis. why didnt the vet realse that?
however the specialst diagonised PRA while they were there,so its all bad news really.
the specialist is very hopeful that the dog will be able to cope with going blind as the collies appaerntly cope very well. so now shes training him a a whistle.

sure makes you appreciate your own dogs health!

Thats appalling :(  surely the first vet should pay for the specialist consultation and travelling expenses at the very least?  I would have thought they'd be insured against this sort of thing :)  Didn't the vet read the patient leaflet??  :rolleyes:

Hope the dog is able to cope with going blind.

dont know im afaired.
but i think i would have kicked up abit more than she has.....however i suppose she thinks there is very little to be done now to actually help. & its a relief to actually know whats wrong

Yes, but it might stop it happening again ;)

Marvellous isn't it?  They get it wrong and we still have to pay!! and usually end up paying to put things right as well.
