Can anyone advise on which flea treatments are safe in pregnancy please.  If she is pregnant she would be about day 30 by now, but I am not sure.  Thanks.

As far as I`m concerned no chemicals are safe for in whelp bitches :) Also the opinion of some vets as well :)

I wouldn't use flea treatment on a pregnant bitch either. What I do, from time to time, is to use a 'nit comb' on my dogs. If you have a bowl of water beside you then you can dunk the fleas into the water before they jump off. You may have to 'cover' them with a finger to stop them jumping. I then push them further into the water so they drown. Sounds cruel when put on paper, doesn't it? ;)

I would never consider using any chemical treatment, be it flea or worming on any of my pregnant bitch's.

I was around when thalidomide hit the headlines and I've never forgotten it!!!

A few fleas aren't going to hurt to any great extent, you could try using garlic on her food, or I believe Stock Nutrition do a homeopathic flea treatment.

Thanks everyone, this is what I expected.  Just thought there might be something, but I will use the comb and drown them if any dare to appear!!

Here is my flea treatment, I use this on all my dogs, no harmful chemicals and works a treat.
Ingredients are full strength oils:
Tea Tree Oil
Rosemary Oil
  Sage Oil
Cedarwood Oil
Peppermint Oil
Sweet Orange Oil
Eucalyptus Oil
Citronela Oil
Pine Needle Oil
Directions:  Mix 4-6 drops each with 32 oz of any natural shampoo and you now have a natural flea shampoo, or Mix 2-3 drops each with 16 oz. Water in a spray bottle.  Shake before each application and spray lightly over entire body.

Repels fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, flies and also makes the van smell great Spray dogs, and blankets.  Use before going into the show ring instead of those other sprays; no chemical smell spray.  This stuff smells great,   dogs look great, give additional shine to their coat
All oils available from Holland and Barrett.
