Has anybody got any ideas of anything I can put on Min's (14yrs 5 months old Lab) warts.

She has two on her face that seem to be a bit red and a tad angry which I think is because MB (2 yr old Lab) licks and chews

I just want to make sure they don't get infected as really don't want to take Min to the vets unless it becomes really necessary :)

I was thinking some germoline ?

She is happy and healthy otherwise and still likes to take me for a walk :D

I wouldn't use Gemolene personally, creams can feed an infection. thats if the warts are infected.

My boy has a wart that inflames occasionally and I use Vetzyme Antibacterial Powder.  It dries it up and keeps it clean.

Its what I use if any of mine get hot spots, works a treat on those too!!

Hi
I dont mean to sound stupid but what are hot spots?
Thanks Kayl

They are small areas of wet excema, that sometimes occur on skin, it produces a weeping red area, that spreads rapidly.

How big are they?  My old dog had a wart on his head, a fair size and it was tied off, fell off within a week.

They are only about 5 cm in diameter so not that big.

I am sure they will be fine but just don't want them to get infected and MB does like licking them and I know what disgusting things she tends to eat !

Mars my first oldie had some but she went into have an OP to clean up a wound on her leg which wasn't healing and the vets did some free plastic surgery for us and removed them all !

She will be due to go and have her claws clipped in a few weeks time under sedation so I will see what our vet thinks.
Thanks all

Flowers of Sulphur does the exact same thing as the vetzyme powder for drying up hot spots etc.

Take her to your Vet ask them to tie it off.  I did this about a week ago with my oldie, it fell off within 3 days!  It was only small though, but it used to be BIG, it was tied off a year ago and only started to grow back a few weeks back.
