HELLO (also need help getting kc papers from breeder?)
I am wondering how I can ge the information of a pom I bought from a breeder here.
after trying..by e mail..by phone..now threatens me with harassment..if i e mail her again..I'm sorry..but after over a year or more..and empty promises..still no kennel club papers.sent message via her msn page for poms..only to find she had deleted message!..I try'd to join again just to see if after our phone conversation..if she has sent a new pedigree (proper one that is) she informs me she found some papers..in reply..I said great! at last!..but yet another empty promises..all i am wanting is the kennel club reg..and decent pedigree?..not much to ask from a breeder..only she deny'd my trying to join..were I bought my pom from? so confused here..so it looks like I am having to dig around myself for the info i need! as clearly she does not have it? or she would have sent it to me by now..after telling me the kennel club sent forms to me?? and were returned..sorry..my opinion,,she lye'd..this conduct of a breeder I am apauled at!!has any one else had any trouble with a certain breeder..regarding ck registration?
please e mail me at ..maria48angel@hotmail.com  .so can any one help me? I was told by her I cant register my pom without all the information..even picked the kennel club name..and sent her pictures of the pom on her request..don't know were to turn now..surely this is not right..having to wait..and wait and e mail and e mail..only to be told she will get me for harassment??? how can I get what I need without getting in touch with the seller...in my opinion this is not the right procedure of a good breeder?
do you think she has not got what i am asking for..as you would think after all this time..it would be over with!???????
please advise..been here b4 and asked..and you were all great with the help..but thank you for that..but still no joy here sadly. :(  am trying trading standerds now? had enough! and I dont like doing this :(
- By archer [gb] Date 09.01.05 00:04 UTC
Unless you have it in writing that the pup is KC reg then you have very little,if any, hope of success
If you know the date of birth and parents name of the pup then contact the kennel club to check it has been registered

Unfortunately without anything in writing you haven't got a leg to stand on and Trading Standards and the KC wouldn't be interested !  Can you PM me with more details re. price paid, where you got the dog from, please do not post it on here as I don't want people being called especially when we don't have the full details.

hello tryd to send you privat says you dont exist ??
loveheart?
hmmm
- By Brainless [gb] Date 09.01.05 12:59 UTC
This is a public forum so if you post anyone could contact yu, they could be a puppy farnmwer, bad breeder or reputable, you would have to make enquiries yourself as to their standign in the breed.  This is the reason I always suggest anyone loooking for a puppy contacts the relevant National or Regional breed club for the breed.  They will know of reputable breeders, and may also know of some of the rogues to be wary of that are 'dealing' in their breeds and not terue breed lovers.

If this person advertises on this site then contact admin, and they may make enquiries and if they are found to be behaving unethically they may withdraw their advertising rights???

Normally you should be give the KC registration and a Pedigree at teh time you pick up a puppy, or if they aren't available (as breeder registered late) then you should have had something in writing to say papers to follow, this is what the KC general Code of Ethics requires.

If you have th Mothers registered name, and the pups date of Birth the KC will be able to tell you if a litter has ever been registered, and also what litters have been registered to that bitch previously.

I am veru upset about this..as have been clearly lyd to all along!!! I canot give this problem to rest....as I am appauld by this breeders conduct..this is my opinion..even tho she said shed take the dog back?? on phone she told me i didnt know what i was talking about..(as i did tell her i wil take this further)and get info from some were..she sheemd worried..and called me..saying she would get me in court or something..now deny me into her sight..and deleted all my messages on there..talk on phone..she had found papers proper pedigree bla..bla.. and she will send on..and she was starting to register dog (she told me)..so i e mail again..as till waiting..and now..e maild..do not e mail me again..or i have you for harasment..(spelling bad sorr)..just upset by all this :(

at my wits end now!!
taking it further..as she wont let me e mail her! so waht am i supposed to do?
loveheart.still seeking help :(
- By michelled [gb] Date 11.01.05 11:31 UTC
hi loveheart,im sorry to hear all youve been through.
are you intending to show? because if not id just chalk it down to experince as unless you are going to show or breed then is it really worth all the upset?
id tell admin & maybe report the breeder to the breed club & kennel club, then just let it rest as this breeder does not seem to want to help you.

if you can make out some of the dogs names on the pedigree you may be able to research some lines /dogs /kennels yourself through the net. which is very rewarding to find your dogs history & relations

best of luck

ps the signiture box is so you dont have to sign off each message. you can save your own "siginture in it.
mine is below

Hi michelled, sorry to go off the topic but do you know how to search a dogs lines or history on the internet. As i have said before on here recently got GR and have contacted breeder but no reply would like to find some history about Tyler.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 11.01.05 21:02 UTC
If you put the name of either of his parnets in a search engine you may get show results, entries on breed websites etc come up.  If a dog is well known there may be quite a fe references.  The same can be sonewith a breeders affix (kennel name), it wil give you an idea of what events and placings their dogs may have won and anywhere they may be mentioned on the net.
- By louise123 [gb] Date 11.01.05 23:49 UTC
Thanks i tried with Tylers name but didn't get anything i will try his parents but i won't hold me breath.
- By michelled [gb] Date 13.01.05 09:36 UTC
just try all the names/affixs
barring that i expect there are some goldie forums that you could ask for informatiuon on any of the dogs
- By Brainless [gb] Date 13.01.05 10:43 UTC
You won't find anything ofn your own dog unless you have been showing him, or ahve your own website with his details on.  You may have more luck with parents and grandparents as something should appear if they were worked or shown and made some impact.

Thanks!

Well seeing as i am the breeder in question i thought i should join in. Those of you who would like to know more on this topic and see my referance from the south wales pom club please feel free to e-mail me.Zoeslocombe@hotmail.com
Maria was sold a puppy as a pet at a pet price. She was sent a copy of the prdigree from the kennel club. She was never allowed to have the registration papers as i have been advised not to hand them out by some of the top breeders in poms with all the puppies i sell. Maria has been harrassing me with hundreds on e-mails and a number of threats which included a vist from her brother in law and his pit bulls. She also told me she had the puppy tested for everthing and somthing came up in the bloods. I don't know what as i was under instruction not to answer any of her e-mails. I had to choose to refuse on my phone to stop the calls of abuse. Any way the day after telling me there was somthing wrong with the dog she advertises him as a stud! You can all make of it what you will. IF any of you would like to know more feel free to mail me.
Regards
Zoe
Oh and i did offer a refund for the dog as this has become an obsession and the dog no longer seams important to her as she has told me to come and get him a number of times and also told the police officer.

P.s. maria mailed me begging for a pup and i can show you all that message too
- By Brainless [gb] Date 23.02.05 22:35 UTC
As is often the case there are two sides to every story.  As several times she was advised to check with the breed club regarding the breeders standnig, and this advice did not appear to be taken, and then offering an unregistered dog at stud did make one wonder a bit.
- By louise123 [gb] Date 23.02.05 22:45 UTC
Just what i was going to say 2 sides to every story.
- By charlie72 [gb] Date 24.02.05 09:30 UTC
Can I just ask what the difference is between the pedigree the kennel club sends and the registration papers?Just a little confused as to what loveheart is requesting. If she recieved the pedigree certificate from the KC then what is the problem?Sorry if this is a stupid question but I assumed when you buy a KC registered dog you send off the form and a cheque for which version you'd like and then receive a pedigree certificate from the kennel club transfered in to your name and that was that?Do you need something else if you intend to breed?(just interested in the difference,no intentions to breed my dog)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 24.02.05 10:07 UTC
A pedigree and a registration document are different. The pedigree has no mention of the ownership of the dog - the registration document does. The registration document has the form which you send off to transfer the dog into your ownership - if you intend to breed, that's vital!
- By charlie72 [gb] Date 24.02.05 11:16 UTC
I seeeee :) I must have registration then as my certificate from the KC has my name on it.Can I also ask about naming your own pup (kc name).I know this is common practice in the States(pet shops puppies etc) but I've never heard of it being an option here?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 24.02.05 11:20 UTC
Only the breeder can register the puppies. Sometimes the breeder will ask if there's a particular name you fancy from a list of alternatives, but usually they have their own theme for naming their litters. The registration will have the pup's KC name on it, as well as that of the sire and dam. No other dogs' names will be on it.
:)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 24.02.05 11:23 UTC
In the Uk the breeder has to name the pups and in order that paperwork is to hand in plenty of time most breeders register the pups when they are in the nest, (I send mine off when I know the pups are going to survive at about two weeks old).

Some have a specific name in mind, but others will ask the new owners on their list for suggestions/prefernces, though this would only apply to those who have already booked a pup by the time the breeder is ready to apply for registration.

Endorsements help avoid such misunderstanding from arising as in this case, as the breeder is required to have it in writing that the new owner is aware of the breeding restriction.

I endorse all my puppies registrations, including my own, and apply to have them removed if appropriate (once they are mature and proved to be a of breeing quality and have had good results from Hip Scoring and eye testing) at a later date.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 24.02.05 10:18 UTC
The registration is like a Logbook for yoru car, whereas the pedigree is like the manufacturers specs you receive whn you buy a new vehicle.

Most breeders will hand write or do their own pedigrees on the computer.word processor as we like to include lostd of info and personalise them.

For those who don't widh to you can have the Kennel ?club print them for you from the records they hold in their computer.  they offer two levels of service I think, aq black and white one and one on better paper in color suitable for framing.

Most breeders in my breed would include in their pedigrees the Hips Scores maybe, and in others anything else that may be relevant, say colour etc.

Hi Brainless,

>The registration is like a Logbook for yoru car, whereas the pedigree is like the manufacturers specs you receive whn you buy a new vehicle.<

Absolute gem - couldn't think of a better analogy :P

- By michelled [gb] Date 24.02.05 09:43 UTC
hi zoe!
im glad youve come on as you can give the other side to the story!

its a shame its all come to such bad feeling,i feel  through some misunderstanding.
did you make it clear that you do not give out reg documents with your puppies?

im a little confused why you would do this, why not just have the "pet" quality ones endorsed?
- By zoesloco [gb] Date 24.02.05 11:12 UTC
It was my first litter ever and i just did as advised by a breeder. The dogs were not advertised it was just from general enquires and i told everyone they were for pets only but i would buy a proper pedigree from the kennel club for this perticular person. Which i did and i had to have 3 sent as she kept saying she never recived them. I now know she  did recieve all of them as she has posted them on another website. Again now i am doing as advised by the breeder of the dam and owner of the sire.
- By michelled [gb] Date 24.02.05 11:31 UTC
well i hope it hasnt put you off totally!!!!! :)
so are the litter KC reg or not?
if they are ,are they  still reg in your name or the purchasers?
its all abit confusing,sorry!

i must admit, that if i bought a kc regd puppy ,even a pet quality one, i would want the papers & the pup reged in my name. BUT if it was explained to me then it would be my choice if then i agreed to this or went else where!
- By poppynurse [gb] Date 24.02.05 17:48 UTC
could you not compromise, register the puppy with a breeding endorsement, seems this might keep everyoine happy???? :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 24.02.05 17:56 UTC
Unfortunately endorsements can only be applied when the pup/dog is in the physical possesiion of the person applying the endorsement.
