I'm interested to find out how much the stud fee is for a Boxer? I imagine as with any breed it would depend on the dogs pedigree/show career etc?

Actually, in our breed, and I suspect many others, the higher stud fees are charged by the unscrupulous owners of poorly bred, untested dogs, who are just out to make as much money as possible. You will often find that the best dogs are a lot cheaper!

In my own breed the sutd fees are the same for all the dogs, as is the price of puppies.  As with a puppy there is no guarantee that stud A will produce better than stud b, as it is the pairing that makes the pups.

I would contact the breed club/s and fiond out what is nortmal for the breed.  As the other poster said owners of good studs do not overcharge.

Most of the reputable breeders within our breed simply charge the price of a puppy for the stud fee. If the pups are sold for, say, £650, that is the price of the stud fee. I would agree with "Husky" though, I have seen untested dogs who are neither shown nor worked advertised at ridiculously high stud fees.
I would also say that it isn't just about the money. Most reputable breeders will only let their dogs out to stud if they feel that the breeding is likely to be a good one, with compatible lines.
