Hi.

I have a 4 month old golden retriever, she was getting along fine and was showing real improvement in her house training and doing everything outside, we were very pleased with her progress.

This week however she has started to do all her business in the kitchen and only some outside.   There is no reason of this  as she has been gong out for a good few weeks and she loves going out for walks and the garden but just wont mess outthere or on walks anymore.

I am unsure of what to do now,  it is beginning to be slightly stressing as there is a lot more mess of it from when she was a small puppy at 2 months old when we had her.

Our breeder advised that it should normally only take two weeks to semi house train them and it did but now we have gone back to sqare one and i seem to be walking into large puddles and mess everytime i turn my back.

I let her out plenty enough and in the morning she hasnt made any mess through out the night,  they go out at 6am every morning and are let out for the last time at 12 midnight.

Can anyone advise? i would really appreciate it.

Hi guest I had major problems house training my staffy boy, so I can sympathise with you :( all I can suggest is that you go right back to beginning and take her out regularly, after every meal, after playtime, after she wakes up and regularly in between and stay with her until she does her buisiness and then make a massive fuss of her and give her, her favourite treat.  If she does have an accident in doors just clean it up and ignore it totally.  Make sure you clean it up with a biological cleaner which will remove all traces and scent.  Most of our problems were overnight so I invested in a crate and got up during the night to let him out.  This was a godsend as he never messed in his crate.

I'm sure you will crack it and like us will look back and think what did I get so worked up about?!!!  Good luck, why don't you join and let us know how you get on?

Best Wishes Sue
