My gas cooker has just gone phut. So the dog search has to be postponed for a month. The dog money is set aside its just a question of could I feed dog till payday. Maybe the fates are trying to tell me something....Never mind. We have our health, our home and each other so thats plenty for now. .

Don't worry, it will happen!
Just think, if you were choosing a pup and knew what breed you wanted, you may have to wait months or even a year before the right pup for you came along.
Your new dog is waiting somewhere!
PS Good luck with the replacement cooker, that could be just as large a decision!

It just all happens at once doesn't it?? One of the dials snapped off my cooker a few days ago and I know I need a new one but funds are too limited.
You will find the dog that's right for you. When I got Copper it came right out of the blue when I was visiting my sister in the Borders and she was looking for a dog as well. She mentioned there was a BT available and was going to look at it. I very sneakily phoned the guy before her and snaffled Copper out from under her nose! To be fair though, now she knows him it is obvious he would never have been a family dog so its just as well I had him.
Your dog is just out there waiting for you to find him :)

I'm a bit dogless well Border collieless at present & my hopes of a puppy in the new year have been dashed, however there will be a dog for you & me out there & the longer the wait the better it will be sometimes be when the waiting ends.
When the time is right for you & your future dog you will end up together

Why do things always have to break or need repairing at the start of the New Year when we're all potless?! Its called s#ds law
Never mind Lorelei, it just means that you have a little longer to look forward to something :)

Fate is dictating that the dog who needs you is not around yet. He will find you :)
It's always the same at this time of the year - we've had various things go, but nothing as crucial as the cooker - well the car and the phone (both with dead battery problems!!!).
The dog that is right for you will present itself when you are least looking - this is what happens, sometimes we look too hard and once we stop things fall into place.
As my mother always said, "fate deals an even hand" - your dog will be there in time.
Got the cooker. Now I just need a nice CORGI man to fit it. You are all right, good things come to those who wait. :) Sorry to hear your pup isnt happening, Moonmaiden. Lets wait for our dogs together and see who comes along. :)

Lorelei,
I wanted my pedigree dog all my life (40+ years

) and never thought it would happen, rescue dogs (some pedigree) kept coming along and although I loved them dearly (and still miss them) I still wanted this particular breed. I didn't think I'd ever find a breeder closer than north england/scotland

and they aren't that common. Then I get a phone call after a conversation with a retired dog show organiser who I hadn't seen for years and the next thing I know I'm holding my perfect pup in my arms from just the type of breeder I was looking for!!!! Life/fate has a way of stepping in just when you're not expecting it. Perhaps your special dog isn't ready for you yet ;) but you'll know when it is :D

Hi dont post much, But i just had to add to this,
Everything DOES go at once, since we got woody, our regular income has totally dive bombed, New years eve, went shopping at asda, paid came out, gave our last £13-15 to the appeal, to the firemen outside. Went to the bank, hubby not paid = result no money. Washing machine, given up the ghost, microwave on it's way out. But hey what the hell. There are so many people worse off than us. But at lease we have each other, food in the cupboard, dog all sorted food etc.
We'll survive, we are on our knees. but life goes on.

dont worry a month will fly by it will give you extra time to prepare for your new companion................
Im patient. I waited 40 years for the right time to get Morse and he definitely chose us. We did look at dogs yesterday, and while I was very taken with 2 we came home alone. One was a GSD cross step ladder who could jump OH height with excitement, so we couldnt inflict Minibeast on him ( jumping can be cured, but having a 7 year old around while you do it can be a bit much). The other was a year old staffy cross who was just super. I got right into kicking tennis balls for him and he loved it :) OH said he didnt feel the " this is my dog" spark so we came home. The girl at rescue was very nice and understanding about things. Good news is OH is now prepared to visit the Large Munsterlander and do serious research into the breed.
BTW my problem is I would take so many home,as its so hard watching em pull back from the kennel when they have to go in, and I just like dogs. Especially the ugly ones people ovelook, the old ones looking bereft, the little ones chucked out cos noone trained em, the ones who bark cos theyre scared and those doing cartwheels in the kennel through lack of stimulation.... Its best OH puts a manly foot down.

Oh Lorelei,
I know what you mean :( I've only set foot in a rescue place once (all mine found me ;) ) and was lucky there weren't any dogs for us to see, I'd have wanted to bring most of them home too!
Lorelei
I might just be a bit biased about this, but tell your OH that you couldn't get a nicer dog than the Large Munsterlander :D Having lived with 9 or 10 (at different times

) I can honestly say go for it! ;)

I know so much what you mean about needy doggies. Every time Cops and Harley board at the Cat and Dog Home I want to take a dozen "wee souls" home with me as well. I'd have them all if space time and money would allow.
