my gorgeous staffie is house trained except if left alone, even for an hour or so, wees in the same area of my kitchen.i dont scald her i just clean up.i clean area with enzyme based cleaning fluid to nuetralize scent as have been recommended but she still goes back there when left alone. im sure its a seperation anxiety thing but i really need to stop it from happening.she is 6 months old by the way and beautiful in every other way!! any ideas anyone please??

In the short-term can you break the habit by preventing her getting to that part of the kitchen? Either by barricading it off, or crating her (only for short periods of course).
thanx for reply cant barricade area as large open plan kitchen also would it be too late to crate her now at 6 months?

Not at all, as long as you get her used to it gradually.

I know this sounds obvious, but do you make her go out and wee before you leave her? And how is she overnight? Does she sleep alone then? I've got a staff girl who sometimes wees overnight. She hates going out to go before bed and if not watched will sneak in without doing one. She's 17months and I don't want to tell her off hours after she's done it as it won't mean anything to her, but it is so frustrating. We've got a boy pup of 4mths who has been dry overnight since we got him. He's still in a crate at night, but she's allowed to roam the kitchen. Even if we crated her again, she would wee in her bed (against normal staff behaviour). I do sympathise.
its funny my staffs hate that last wee before bed time cant be bothered to get of the sofa!! but to the op i wouldnt worry too much i think she will grow out of it, maybe leave her with a raw knuckle bone or a stuffed kong it might give her something else to think about ? xx
