Delilah is 3 and having her third season, currently day 11. Zorro is just one year old. Zorro in the last 2 days has become stressed, not unnaturally. Of course they are well seperated, in different rooms. One goes out in the front garden, one in the back. Is there anything I can do to ease his stress? I do have the option of delilah going to her breeder, if i take the breeders male dog back to me. I would prefer not to do this however as he has fits since he had a bang on his head. I am not sure which is worse!

Is there no-one who would take Zorro for you until Delilah is clear? Or how about putting him into kennels for 2 weeks?

I have an entire male, a speyed bitch and an 11 week old bitch puppy. When she is due into season (a long way off, I hope ;) ) I will be putting one of them into kennels. It helps me, I suppose, that my bitches breeder runs boarding kennels :D I wouldn't dream of keeping a dog and a bitch in the same house when she is in season. Not after an accidental mating several years ago

kennels for zorro would have been the best option, but unfortunately delilah came into seas on 3 months earlier than i expected, and he has not had enough time to have an effective kennel cough jab. i dont suppose they would take him without that, and frankly i dont have the money for kennels. he is too big and bouncy for any of my friends to have him. i think i may have to take her to the breeders......she promised to take her last week but now is not answering her phone:O(

A friend of mine uses TARDAC on their dog when the bitch comes into season - but they usually have a few days notice.  Despite him being a really highly sexed dog it seems to stop him getting distressed, they don't allow them to be together tho ;)
