I Have a white lab x who has problems with tear staining.  I've tried all the obvious items you can purchase from pet shops to remove the stain without sucess.  Does anyone out there know of something I can use to remove the stains.  The fur around both eyes is a reddy colour now and no amount of rubbing with tear pads will remove it.  Can someone please help me? these unsightly stains are ruining my poor boys good looks.

This is from the states but it does work & they will ship to the UK

What does the vet say is the cause of the staining, because it's even more important to treat the cause than the symptom.

In the meantime try bathing it with a solution of bicarbonate of soda, taking care not to get it actually in the eyes. It's not quick, but it does work.

My tri-colour cavalier use to suffer from staining around the white area of his eye until we had another cavalier puppy who seemed to like licking him.  Since then the stains have cleared up and never had a problem since!!!
