Breeding takes months of research..not just throwing 2 dogs of the same breed together!

Sorry, but using the dog which lives the closest is no way to start breeding, and to wait until your girl is in season before looking for a stud suggests you have made the decision to breed without any thought whatsoever. You should have spent MONTHS looking for a suitable stud, and that search should have started only after years of research into the breed.  

You've left it much too late for this season I'm afraid! Your best bet is to get in touch with her breeder who will advise you as to which stud dog would suit her best (be prepared to travel, probably several hours each way!). If the breeder can't help, then one of the Breed Club secretaries may well be able to.

Have you looked into the things that can go wrong with just breeding chihuahuas willy nilly?They can have slipping patellas, open moleras etc etc, pups too big for mum to pass so you lose both pups and mum,please if you are going to breed Chihuahuas do it like all breedings should be done.......to better the breed.
