Just found a tick on my cat. There was only 1 and after checking rest of cats and dogs not found any more.
Is there any action I should take. Not sure if I should go to the vets know nothing about them.
Can anyone help

Have you got any frontline spray in the house Sharon?

If you have spray it directly onto the tick, it will then die and fall off.

I prefer that method rather than tweezing them out, little b*****s are still alive when you do that and they make me squirm!! :-(

Well my hubby just pulled it off. It was big and fat he stood on it and it popped.
I dont have any frontline spray but when we flee the pets thats what we use and they were done just before xmas. Thats why I was shocked to see it.

Be careful that you haven't left the head behind, as this can happen if you do't sedate/kill the tick first.  You also need to be careful with the fluid contained in a tick, as they can carry Lymes disease, and this is very unpleasant if a human gets it into a wound (not much fun for domestic animals either - a friend of mines JRT went through a very rough time with it, and it wasn't easy to diagnose)
