I'm sitting in the study on the computer, as you know, and my 6 month old GSP has his bed in here. He's been asleep for a while, but 5 minutes ago he made strange noises. They're hard to describe. He breaths in, then breaths out faster and funny squeaky noises come out. It's a bit like a cough. He's stopped now, but ealier my brother told me when he went to check on him this morning, he was coughing. Do you know why he's doing this? From Phoebe  :-(

My older lass (6 lol) actually sleeps in bad with us some nights and she dreams a lot. She makes high pitched whimpering noises while twitching and then starts growling. Its normal. She also snores, so between her and my husband i get very little sleep!

Don't want to worry you but I think that a lot of dogs that people think are just snoring do actually have a bigger problem than that!  I had a dog that used to make noises like this and everyone said that it was just snoring, I actually had him x-rayed and it was ? mega oesophagus or another throat problem, it was quite some time now but luckily he was only young and luckily it didn't affect him as it mustn't of been as serious as these problems can be.

I wasn't happy with the just snoring thing, as I knew in my heart of hearts that it sounded like something more.  If you are that worried have your dog checked out, but you would need it to be x-rayed.

Hope it is something and nothing as I don't usually like to look on the bad side.

I had a power cut a couple of nights ago, so complete silence, apart, that is from the dogs. whimpering, sniffling, yelping, soft throaty growls, all were sound asleep,Some with little jerks and paw movements, and a couple with REM. Would love to know what they are dreaming about.

Well with mine im pretty sure its nightmares over the Husky cross pup ive fostered untill i can get her to England to her new family. They really cant be doing with her, she is too loud, too boistrous, a thief (steals their food and bones lol) and is getting away with doing tiddles in their house (albeit on newspaper) when they dont dare for fear of being escorted into the garden!
