hello i am looking for a shorthaired chihuahua puppy boy and am not having very much luck. I am looking for a litter due around februaury 2005 to go to a very loving home with a large enclosed garden. I am willing to pay up to £600. I live in Essex so if anyone knows of any due in that time in my area or an hour or so away that would be great. Please help me to find one. Contact me on - ryanjcolchester34@hotmail.com.
Thankyou

there is a litter due at a pet shop called east london puppies. They have a great reputation and are not involved in any puppy farming. If you get in contact with them I'm sure they can help.

Pet shops which sell dogs are inextricably linked with puppy farming - that is where their pups come from, because it's against KC regulations for owners of KC registered dogs to sell puppies to third parties.

DO NOT buy from a pet shop...however desperate you may be!!!! You are just supporting puppy farmimg if you do and helping to force poor little bitches stay in a cruel life of constantly producing pups until there 'useful' lives are over!!!!!!!!

PLEASE READ THIS....THE east london pet shop is one of the listed 'outlets' at the bottom and so ARE involved in puppy farming!!!!!!

Hi guest why don't you have a look at some of the breeders on here. Go to the home page and click on search, and then on guided search. From there you can find respectable breeders who will be able to help you. You sound like someone who is interested in buying a puppy from a good breader, but I will say this anyway. Please, don't go to a pet shop as ALL pets shops that sell puppies are involved with puppy farmers. You could also have a look at http://www.the-british-chihuahua-club.org.uk or you could contact them at coriam@tiscali.co.uk I recommend you visit crufts this year and go up and have a chat with some of the people on discover dogs. Not only is it a brilliant day out, it's also a really good way to get to know a breeder. The majority of breeders will be pleased to talk to you and will maybe give you there number and you can ring them to find out when they have pups. Or they might recommend someone who has puppies. You obviously like these dogs, and at pet shops if you buy from them you are just making it possible for more Chihuahuas to be used on in puppy faming. Here is the address with the crufts info on
http://www.necgroup.co.uk Just type in crufts on the search bar. Good luck with your search. Maybe you could join and tells us how you get on and when you find your little boy.

The poor chihuahua   You only have to open a celebrity magazine at the moment and they all have one as a fashion accessory!!!  Coincidence that the visitors question section has quite a few people requesting this breed?  Breeders beware....

At the moment the latest fashion in dogs seem to be Chihuahuas or Pugs - unfortunately this has led to puppy farmers 'cashing in' on the craze and adding them to their usual stock of Labs, Westies etc. - selling their stock to Pet stores such as the one mentioned earlier in this post. I would beg anyone thinking of getting ANY new puppy to remember that they will be taking on a commitment that may well last for 18 years or more and to be prepared to wait for a puppy from a  breeder recommended by the breed club and not go for the 'quick fix' option.

Every person that buys a puppy from a pet store ( no matter how reputable they may seem) is simply ensuring that puppy farming continues with all the suffering that means for hundreds of dogs. A dog is not a fashion accessory but a member of your family and is worth waiting a little longer for !.

We have got a 16 week old Chihuahua, that we had to wait nearly 18 months for before we could get a puppy from a responsible breeder, it is much better to get on a breeders list and wait. I would think if you bought from this puppy outlet that you would not be able to see the father or the mother, and from places like that you could not be sure you were getting a good example of a chihuahua that you are looking for.

We looked at a few places before we got Grace and some of the parents did not resemble anything like a chihua even though they did have the paperwork for them, so go to the breed club or Crufts and be prepared to wait, but it will be worth it to get what you really want.
