i really need some advice , my gsd bitch hurt her paw so she could not be exercised for quiet a while she has put on a lot of weight, i have cut down on her food and exercise her more but she is extremely hungry, what could i add to her food that would fill her without adding weight i hate having a hungry dog when i know it is my fault she has got this way ,i should have cut her down while she was ill and not moving around much, any advice would be helpful thanks

Carrot, Cabbage and unsweetyened Pumpkin are all good for adding bulk without calories.

You will need to cut her toi half rations of her normal food to get weight off her at an appreciable level.

Took me several months to shift the weight my Dad put on one of mine over a 2 week holiday!!!

If possible up the exercise by swimming for example as it burns the calories without stressing the joints

i agree with swimming, my dog put a bit of weight on after fracturing his femur, the swimming worked a treat, if you look in the yellow pages, under hydrotherapy you should find somewhere, good luck, i think you will have to be cruel to be kind.( see moonmaiden we can agree on something!) xx
