Do both parents have to be KC registered for the pups to be KC registered as i am going to be getting a KC registered dog but someone has told me only one parent needs to be registered

Yes - for a puppy to be registered, both parents must be KC-registered -unless you are talking about obedience dogs (and I'm a bit vague about this point :( )

Ask to see copies of the puppy registration application if the KC papers have not come back...... I think you should be shown proof!!

For puppies to be registered as pedigree BOTH parents MUST be registered.

The obedience (Working) register is a totally different thing. This is only to enable non pedigree dogs to compete in KC working events.

Unless of course the puppy is a BC from parents one of whom is ISDS reg & the other KC

This is true. The International Sheep Dog Society is I believe, the only organisation that this applies to.
